Lots of smiles last week from everyone who earned a PAWS slip!

Ms. Fix and Ms. Hoover’s 2nd graders took on the Iditarod! 🐾❄️
From drawing their own mushers to diving deep into Alaska, sled dogs, race training, and survival on dangerous terrain—students became true experts. They tracked their musher’s progress through checkpoints, calculated all 975 miles in math, researched, wrote, and fueled some serious classroom competition along the way.
An unforgettable adventure in learning!

Tomorrow is hat day at Shelby Elementary!

SHELBY PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT HAS WATER PRESSURE. WE WILL RESUME NORMAL OPERATIONS TOMORROW, MARCH 25, 2026.
THE CITY HAS INFORMED US THAT THEY WILL BE WORKING ON THE WATER SITUATION THROUGH THE END OF THE SCHOOL DAY. AS SUCH, WE WILL BE DISMISSING STUDENTS EARLY.
PLEASE AVOID VALLEY ST. AND WESTWOOD AVE.
ALL PICK UPS WILL NEED TO OCCUR TO THE NORTH ON 7TH AVE (PRAIRIE).
BUSES WILL DEPART THE SCHOOL BETWEEN 2:50 AND 3:00 PM.
WE WILL KEEP YOU POSTED ON TOMORROW'S SCHOOL PLAN AS WE LEARN MORE.
WE HAVE A WATER MAIN BREAK ON WESTWOOD AVE. AS A RESULT, WE HAVE NO WATER PRESSURE AT THE SCHOOLS. THE CITY IS ATTEMPTING TO SHUT OFF THAT BREAK AND RESTORE WATER PRESSURE. IF THEY ARE NOT ABLE TO, WE MAY NEED TO SEND STUDENTS HOME EARLY TODAY.
WE WILL KEEP YOU POSTED AS THIS SITUATION EVOLVES.
