Shelby High School seniors Thomas “Tommy” Knickerbocker and Aeris Stewart both earned top-six finishes as the Coyotes hosted their home cross-country meet Sept. 3 at Marias Valley Golf & Country Club.
Knickerbocker placed fourth in the high school boys race, completing the course in 20 minutes, 36.4 seconds. He finished among the leaders in a field of 51 runners.
Stewart represented Shelby in the high school girls race and finished sixth out of 48 competitors. She crossed the finish line in 23:18.2.
The meet featured nearly 200 high school and junior high runners. Visiting coaches praised the course, and athletes competed under beautiful late-summer conditions.
Shelby will return to competition Sept. 12 in Browning. Corin Scarborough and Tel Gray are expected to make their season debuts and join Knickerbocker in the boys' race, while Stewart will continue her senior campaign for the Coyotes. Come out to Browning High School to support your Coyote Harriers!
