Paul Bills - Activities Director
I am the new Activities Director here at Shelby Public Schools. I spent 13 years at Bridger Public Schools, then another 13 years at Ennis Public Schools. I was the Activities Director for 20 of those years. I retired from education in 2018 and spent the last 8 years working for the State of Montana. I have two adult children. My daughter is a Clinical Therapist in Los Angeles, CA, and my son is in Rome, Italy, studying to be a Priest. I enjoy playing golf, fishing, and cooking. I am beyond excited to be a part of the Shelby community and am looking forward to the upcoming school year.
Carissa Blair - HS Science
I grew up in Sunburst, MT, and attended North Toole County Schools with my two sisters and brother. That is where I got my first taste of teaching. While in high school, I spent a lot of time doing science fair projects. They took many hours of work and late nights, but were accomplishments that made me proud to have completed and to show off to others. During this time, I also had a chance to work with the younger science fair students on their projects. Helping them and the enthusiasm of my high school science teacher, Larry Fauque, is what started my love of teaching. When I graduated from NTCHS, I headed off to Dillon to attend the University of Montana Western to complete my degree in Secondary Education General Science Broadfield. After college, I spent several years subbing and teaching in Toole County before moving to Belgrade to spend time working as a paraprofessional in the Life Skills room and Special Education classroom. While I was there, I learned a lot about how to change lessons to make them more accessible to everyone. I returned to Shelby after that, working once again as a paraprofessional in the Special Education classroom. I enjoyed getting to know the students over the last three years, and I am excited to continue to get to know them and build a classroom where everyone can learn. I love baking and gardening as well as spending time outside. I also enjoy reading, gaming of several types, good movies, and writing. My family means a great deal to me. I spend a lot of time with my niece and nephew as well as my three cats. I can’t wait for this new school year and to continue on in my teaching career.
Curt Leeds - HS Math
Hello! My name is Curt Leeds, and I am excited to return to Shelby, where I began my career in education 19 years ago. Born and raised on the Hi-Line in Havre, I can’t wait to work with the students and parents of this great community. This year, I will be teaching High School Geometry, Statistics, and 6th Grade STEM. My wife, Kassie, is also joining the district as a 2nd-grade teacher.
Outside the classroom, I love spending quality time with my family. We enjoy bike riding, camping, playing at local parks, and watching our kids play sports.
Kassie Leeds - Second Grade Teacher
Hello! My name is Kassie Leeds, and I am very excited to be teaching in Shelby this year. My husband, Curt, and our family moved to Shelby this summer and are already enjoying our time here. We have three kids, Layden (third grade), Layke (Kindergarten), and Londyn (1 ½). I was born and raised in Havre and taught third grade there for the past 11 years. This will be my 12th year teaching, and I am thrilled to be teaching second grade. Our family enjoys camping, fishing, playing outside, riding bikes, and enjoying youth sports. I look forward to meeting you all and joining this wonderful community.
Rebecca Linton - HS English
I am looking forward to serving the Shelby community as the new English teacher and assistant cross country coach. I am going into my third year as a high school English teacher. I wanted to become an English teacher because of the life-changing impact English teachers had on me while I was in high school. I also started writing songs and poetry when I was 15, and that has been an important part of my life ever since. I received my undergraduate degree in English from the University of Massachusetts, where I worked as an editor for the literary publication and concentrated my studies in Creative Writing. I received my Master's in Teaching from Montana State University. I am a classically trained musician and enjoy composing, playing cello, piano, guitar, and singing. I am incredibly grateful and excited for this opportunity to be in Shelby.
Analyn Luna - Colony Teacher
I am Analyn B. Luna, an experienced educator with 18 years of teaching experience. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a major in Mathematics and a Master of Arts in Education with a major in Educational Management. I hold teaching licenses in the United States and the Philippines, including a Class 1 Montana Educator License (K–8), a Michigan Teaching License (K–8), and a Philippine Professional Teaching License.
Throughout my teaching career, I have been committed to creating a supportive learning environment where students can grow academically and personally. My goal is to help every child build confidence, develop a strong sense of responsibility, and foster a lifelong love of learning.
