Charlie M. Russell High School in Great Falls hosted its 41st annual CMR Holiday Classic this past weekend giving over fifty wrestling teams from around the state a peek at this year’s top competitors.

The annual Whitehall Duals were held this past weekend. Twenty-one teams competed for the top dual meet position in the two-day team tournament. Nine members of the Shelby Coyote Wrestling Team wanted to prove that they were capable of big things this season. On day one of the events, the Coyotes would square off with familiar and not so familiar opponents.

Two Shelby Coyote Wrestlers, Wyatt Brusven at 145lbs and Tabris Correa at 126lbs, traveled to Billings for the annual MHSA state tournament seeking gold. The abysmal weather forecast spurred an early departure for many of the teams in Montana including the young Coyote grapplers.

Wrestling action continued this weekend with a pit-stop in Fairfield on Thursday night for a mixer and then the 40th Choteau Classic.
