Mark Grotbo, Chairperson

Mark is the General Manager at Marias River Electric Cooperative. He is a graduate of Columbus High School in Columbus, Montana and a graduate from Montana State University in Engineering. Mark is married to LaDonna and they have two children – Kelby and Brice. He ran for the Board as be believes education plays a vital role in our future as our children are our future leaders.

Tom is a 1975 graduate of Shelby High School. The Director of Radiology for Marias Medical Center, Registered Radiologic Technologist and Board Certified Radiology Practitioner Assistant, Tom brings four prior terms of experience to the Shelby Board of Trustees. Tom and his wife, Lorette have three grown sons. Tom feels strongly in volunteering his time and committing his efforts for the benefit of the school and community.

Elda Nichols, Trustee

Elda is employed as the Judicial Assistant for the Ninth Judicial District Court. She is a native of Shelby and graduated from Shelby High School. She is married to Steve and they have 4 sons, all of whom are graduates of Shelby High School. She has served on the Board of Trustees since 2000. Striving to provide a quality education for all students in a healthy and safe environment continues to be her goal as a Board member.

Joe is a fourth generation farmer and rancher. He is a graduate of Shelby High School. He is married to Lore and they have two children, Amie and Derek. Joe has served on the Shelby High School District Board since 2002 and previously served on the Galata Elementary board for six years. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Marias River Electric Cooperative.

Rikki is a Shelby Coyote, Class of ’92. After high school, she went on to earn her degree as a Respiratory Therapist. She works at the Toole County Health Department as a Tobacco Use Prevention Specialist. Rikki is married to Richard James and they have two children – Matthew and Brandon. Rikki loves to spend time with her family and friends. Rikki believes in education and equal opportunities.
