Mary Eme Manda
Certified Staff - Special Education
Mabuhay! That’s our local “hello” in the Philippines. I am Mary Eme Manda, a special education teacher from Cagayan de Oro, a city in the southern part of the Philippines, where I was born and raised. My students fondly call me Teacher Ems, and I am looking forward to being Ms. Ems in Montana.
I love helping children learn and be the best that they can be. That has been my driving force in continuing my education through postgraduate studies in Special Education and Early Childhood Education as well as in pursuing enriching work experiences that have molded me into a better teacher and more equipped facilitator for my students. I would also say it is about “Magis.” Magis was the theme at my college, and I have made it my life’s moto. It means to seek and pursue the best.
In coming to Montana, I am leaving, for a time, my two sons, eight-year old Paolo and three-year-old Marco, who I hope will join me and be amazed by Montana at a later time. I am sure they would be as excited as I am now about meeting people, exploring places, and exchanging ideas and values.
Higala, that is our local term for friends; and I am looking forward to making new ones in Shelby. Excited to meet all of you!
