I am married with three children, three grandchildren, one exotic Domestic Shorthair tiger cat named Frodo and a Bichon Frise dog named Samwise Gamgee, Sam for short. I reread the same Jack London stories every winter; I especially like Love of Life and To Build a Fire. On the first day the temperature hits zero, we drop what we are doing and read Robert Service's poem, The Cremation of Sam McGee. (There are strange things done in the midnight sun, by the men who moil for gold; The Arctic trails have their secret tales, that would make your blood run cold...) My favorite movies are from the science fiction/fantasy genre: ?Lord of the Rings trilogy by JRR Tolkien and, of course, 2001: A Space Odyssey. My favorite TV shows include PBS' Larkford to Candlerise and Downton Abbey. I renewed knitting as a hobby last winter, and so far I am quite accomplished at making dishcloths. Mrs. Shaffer has promised to help me improve my skill. I hold degrees in elementary and secondary education from MSU-B and UM, so I am a Yellowjacket/Bobcat/Griz.
