I am a Shelby, Montana native. I graduated in 2000 from Montana State University-Billings and took a job teaching in rural, Arctic Alaska. After that, I returned to Shelby to teach middle school science. In 2013 I received my Master's degree in Science and Science Education from Montana State University. Today, in addition to middle school science, I teach high school U.S. and Montana history. This is my 19th year of teaching. My wife Raenell and I have two kids, 3-year-old Lily and 1-year-old William. In my free time, I enjoy almost anything outside, especially whitewater kayaking, paddle boarding, skiing, hiking, camping, reading, traveling and riding my beach cruiser with my kids.
