Toni Miller

Administration - Elementary Principal

I was born and raised just down the road in Choteau, MT, and am thrilled to be back in this area of the state after too many years away. After earning a B.A. in English Literature from Bozeman (Go Cats!), I worked for the State 4-H Office organizing events, leading workshops, and coordinating youth exchange programs. Although I have always been a bookworm, that is when I realized I loved teaching as well as learning. I went back to school at MSU-Billings to earn a master's degree and my teaching certification and then taught English in the Hardin, Montana, area for 9 years. I also spent two years with the Office of Public Instruction as an Instructional Leader for a school improvement grant and four years as an Instructional Coach at Hardin Middle School, which gave me the desire to get my administrative certification from Rocky Mountain College. For the past two years, I have served as the Assistant Principal in Hardin.
Instructional strategies and curriculum are my professional strengths, but interacting with students is what makes me excited to come to work each day. I look forward to meeting all students and families of Shelby Elementary!
